VMware Mirage Step by Step – Part 6 – Installing Mirage Client

Introduction

In this article, we’re going to focus on the Horizon Mirage client installation process. You can install the Horizon Mirage client running the .msi installer on the endpoint. Administrators can also push out the client installer silently, without disturbing user operations, by using command-line arguments. Once the installation is finished, you can see the Mirage icon in the notification area. The Mirage client will appear in Mirage Managment console on the pending device list.

Prerequisite

  1. Verify you have administrative permission.
  2. Verify that your platform meets the software and hardware requirements.

Installation

Execute the appropriate installer depending on 32 Bit or 64 Bit OS.

Click Next to continue.

Accept the License agreement.

Type the IP address or FQDN of the Mirage server or the shared IP of the load balancer in a cluster that you want this client to communicate with. Select this option to enable SSL if your server is configured for SSL use, and type the required SSL port.

Click on Install and proceed further.

Mirage Client Silent Installation

Without SSL Enabled

<Mirage MSI path>\MirageClient.x64.buildnumber.msi SERVERIP=MirageServer /quiet

With SSL Option Enabled

<Mirage MSI path>\MirageClient.x64.buildnumber.msi SERVERIP=MirageServer:port USESSLTRANSPORT=true /quiet
