VMware Mirage Step by Step – Part 5 – Installing Mirage File Portal & Web Management console

Introduction

In our previous article, we went through how to install and configure IIS for use with VMware Mirage File Portal and Web Management. In this article, we’ll go over how to install the Horizon File Portal & Web Management Console

Pre Work

  • IIS is installed and configured properly with an SSL certificate

Installing VMware Mirage Web Console

Run the installer mirage.webmanagement.x64.<buildnumber>.msi to start the installation.

 

Provide FQDN of the server where you want to install VMware Mirage Web Management console.

Login to VMware Mirage Web Console using URL https://<FQDN>:7443/VMwareMirage

Installing VMware Mirage File Portal

Launch the Mirage File Portal Installer executing mirage.WebAccess.x64.<buildnumber>.

By default, both the Web Access and Admin Web Access web applications are configured for the file portal. You can choose not to configure either of these options by clicking the drop-down menu and selecting Entire feature will be unavailable.

Select Web Access to provide access to only an end-user’s user files, as defined by the administrator, across all CVD snapshots. Select Admin Web Access to give the administrator full access to all user CVDs across all CVD snapshots.

 

Login to VMware Mirage File Portal using URL https://<FQDN>:6443/explorer

Login to VMware Mirage Admin File Portal using URL https://<FQDN>:6443/Adminexplorer
